The Ivins Youth Council was created by the Ivins City Council to give the youth of the community a voice on city issues, an understanding of how city government works, and an opportunity to provide a service to the community that will showcase the knowledge, skill, and dedication of youth in Ivins.
The Ivins Youth Council receives guidance and instruction from a Youth Council Director and advisors, including an advisor from the Ivins City Council. (Click here for information about the Youth Council Advisors.)
Some of the activities of the Youth Council: Youth Council Leadership Retreat; education on Parliamentary Procedure and Rules of Order; create a youth event for Heritage Days; make presentations at the Ivins City Council about youth issues; attend the Legislature while in session in Salt Lake; education on City Government. Youth Council members organize their own events and service projects to promote their Council and give back to the community. This is known as their “legacy project.”
