As a member of the Ivins Youth Council, I understand my role as a leader in my community. I will represent Ivins City in a positive manner, and I understand that my actions at home, at school, and in the community affect the reputation of Ivins City and the Ivins Youth Council.
I agree to the following standards. I will:
- Abide by all Youth Council rules, policies, and guidelines.
- Always maintain high ethical and moral standards.
- Through my actions and words, I will support Ivins City, its staff, residents, and reputation always.
- Show respect to the sponsor of any activity I am helping with and members of the Youth Council and its Advisors, as well as any other person with whom I have contact as a Youth Council member.
- Forego alcohol, drugs, and tobacco, and avoid places or activities that would raise questions about my character.
- Avoid participation in, and actively discourage, any conversations which belittle or degrade others.
- Project a positive image.
- As a member of the Youth Council, maintain an enthusiastic, positive, and cooperative attitude and respect the ideas of others.
- Make Youth Council a priority and follow through with all Youth Council activities and meetings. (Youth Council members must be present at 75% or more of all meetings and activities. Extenuating circumstances may be considered if Advisors are contacted and know what is going on.)
- Keep myself up to date on all Youth Council activities and communicate with my Advisors and committees I am involved in.
- Accept constructive criticism and guidance and evaluate my own performance.
- As a representative of Ivins City, I will always set a proper example for the youth of the community.
I will respect and abide by the Youth Council bylaws and this pledge. I understand that as a member of the Ivins Youth Council I may be removed from office upon a violation of one or more of the above criteria and by an 80 percent vote of the Youth Council Advisors.
