We thank the following businesses for supporting the Ivins Youth Council by prominently displaying our new application poster: Canyon Crossing Station, Family Dollar, IBB Cyclery & Multisport, IceBox & Roundabout Grill, Lightfoots, Red Mountain Market.
If you live in Ivins and are currently in 8th to 11th grade join the Ivins Youth Council for fun, education, and service activities. (online application or download PDF application).
In the past year, our Youth Council participated in 3 community/service events (Wreaths Across America, Santa in the Park, Heritage Days). They created two events of their own (Movie in the Park and Pioneer Day Beach Party). They will do two more community/service events before the end of their year (Easter Egg Scramble and an Ivins display for the Washington County Fair).
They also went to the State Capitol, had dinner with Senator Ipson, a one-and-a-half hour discussion with Representative Walter, participated in mock sessions, competed in a land use exercise, debated a proposed bill (the cell phones in school bill that is being discussed now). Governor Cox gave them a preview of his State of the State address. And they attended a presentation by First Lady Abby Cox on mental health issues, and more.
